One of the most famous brand of vacuum flask in Asia, even international, Camel, is a retro-style containers have been made in Hong Kong by Wei Yit vacuum flask manufactory since 1940. Their factory building at Kowloon Bay was completed and occupied in 1986. After 28 years operation of production in that 6-storey industrial building, the owner determined to move out their production line and then to convert the old factory into a new stylish-chic hotel in 2014. This is Camlux Hotel.

Different from common hotel, Camlux has a historical background of its former factory with successful brand. Moreover, the unique building structure custom-made for its factory operation is a characteristic of the building. Layout planning with cooperation between the client, Mr. Raymond Leung and the Architect Mr. T.S. Chu, we make the factory to become a hotel space consisted of 185 guest rooms, restaurant and other service areas.

Client intents to make hotel place for relaxation and comfort, and also preserve the heritage of Camel. This is an affordable, stylish and characteristic hotel instead of luxury star rating hotel. There is no expensive materials and ornament. But it is full of playful and meaningful detailing and materials combination.
